I don't have a awful lot of energy, but I wanted to write a quick post about our vacation (before this old brain forgets most of the details)
We went to Ocean City for a week and then stopped in DC on the way back. No, I didn't get a chance to go to
Knit Happens but I wanted to! 2 children + 95º + no AC in Van = 1 very tired mom & dad. Yep, you read that right, The AC in the van decided to give out around Friday - just in time for the heat to get there. Apparently the blower fan died and needs to be replaced (once it comes in since it is a special order part)
The rest of the trip was great! Perfect beach weather and even the kids were good. Of course it helped that they had their cousins to play with so that the "I'm borrreeeddd"s didn't come into play. Bossy shocked everyone by actually going into the Ocean on the first day! This is the same child who told me all the way there that she was only going to build sand castles and NOT going to go anywhere near the water. She quickly changed her mind when her cousins ignored her "orders" and played in the waves without her.
Can you believe this - my mom and sister were both shocked (yes shocked) to find out that I planned to knit at the beach! I have red hair and the ultra-white skin that goes with it so I spent a lot of my time there in the shade. What was I supposed to do? Sleep? Read? Or watch the kiddos play while I kept my hands busy?
I almost got Bossy's dress done - just need to bury the ends, add elastic, and sew on a button. I got a Barbie sweater done for my niece and most of a skating outfit done for Princess (well its done now since I finished it up at my knitting group) I'll post pictures once I can get all of the vacation stuff put away.
Kids a screaming and slamming doors, must see what is wrong! Hopefully I'll be back later and finish this (with pictures!)

I wanted to knit while I was at the beach a few weeks ago, but I was afraid I'd get sand in my knitting! I guess you did an okay job with it, though.
That's the beauty of using cheap yarn. One spin through the washer and it's as good as new :-)
